Message But that is largely due to lower taxation compared to other countries. The point I am trying to make, is that we are on the ragged edge of supply, and will continue to be so for some time to come. Crude oil is plentiful, but you cant burn crude oil in your car.

Added to all of this, we have the mandated phase out of MTBE as a gasoline blend stock. This will have two effects: 1) a decrease of 5-10% in the volume of gasoline available and 2) a reduction in the octane levels of high octane gasoline level. I expect to see unleaded premium go down to 91 AKI in most locations and lower in high altitude areas. You're right, I am not complaining, just trying to give everyone a heads up as to what is comming down the pike.
